A Vision Born in the Fields
The story of Yesell begins in the villages of Tamil Nadu.
As a young officer serving in the Tamil Nadu Health Department, V.K. Sivabalasubramanian spent years travelling through rural communities across the state. These journeys exposed him to the realities of farming, crop losses, pest infestations, uncertain harvests and the daily challenges faced by farming families.
India was standing at the threshold of the Green Revolution. Agricultural productivity was becoming a national priority and the need for dependable crop protection solutions had never been greater.
Driven by a desire to contribute to this transformation, he founded PNM, The Pudussery Narsimhan Muthambal in Erode in 1969.
What began as a small manufacturing venture was guided by a simple belief. When farmers prosper, the nation prospers.

The foundations of a lasting manufacturing legacy were firmly in place.

V.K. Sivabalasubramanian
V.K. Sivabalasubramanian laid the foundation for the organisation's journey when he founded PNM in Erode in 1969. Raised in pre Independence India, his experiences shaped a lifelong commitment to humility, integrity, public service and farmer welfare. A sharp thinker with a forward looking vision, he built the business on principles of quality, trust and responsibility to society. More than five decades later, he continues to guide the organisation as a mentor, ensuring that the values upon which it was founded remain as relevant today as they were on the day it began.

A Textile Engineer by training, V.S. Rajesh chose to carry forward and reinvent his family's manufacturing legacy through the establishment of Yesell Crops Care. Combining technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset, he has led the company's modernisation, expanded its manufacturing capabilities and strengthened its commitment to quality. Focused on the evolving needs of Indian agriculture and public health, he continues to drive the organisation's growth while remaining firmly committed to its founding belief that farmers deserve products they can trust.
